Newsletter Dezember 2019 Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, liebe Freund*innen und Kolleg*innen, verehrtes Publikum, das Fest der Liebe steht vor der Tür und thematisch geht’s bei uns in diesem Dezember um genau diese Emotion. Statt mit marzipanklebrigen und puderzuckersüßen Kitschergüssen (die ja auch mal schön sein können), beschäftigen sich Schmitt / Adamczak in Everybody needs Only You. Liebe in Zeiten des Kapitalismus neben der l'amour auch mit ihrem vermeintlichen Gegensatz, dem Kapitalismus. Das Stück fragt nach der Beziehung von Liebestausch und Warenverkehr: Welchen Handel betreibt die romantische Liebe? Und wie fühlt es sich eigentlich an, im Kapitalismus zu leben? Darüber hinaus machen wir noch einen kleinen Winterausflug nach Leipzig: zuerst zeigen Kötter / Israel / Limberg noch einmal die Teilprojekte Gold & Coal ihrer Reihe landscapes and bodies in der Residenz des Schauspiel Leipzigs, dann präsentieren dort She She Pop ihr Oratorium - Kollektive Andacht zu einem wohlgehüteten Geheimnis. 8. Dezember 2019, 17 und 20 Uhr, HAU Hebbel am Ufer Berlin Liebe und Kapitalismus gelten als Gegensätze: romantisch-warm versus ökonomisch-kühl. Doch die beiden sind enge Verwandte. Die Liebe erklärt, sie betreffe alle – everybody needs somebody to love – und sei jedes Mal einzigartig: only you. Der Kapitalismus behauptet, wenn jede*r egoistisch ist, sei das gut für alle: eine Gesellschaft der Vereinzelung. Everybody Needs Only You fragt nach der Beziehung von Liebestausch und Warenverkehr. Weil es draußen kalt ist, sehnen sich alle nach der Wärme drinnen, wo es nicht genug Plätze gibt. Die vier Performer*innen arbeiten sich durch das Spielfeld aus Lohnarbeit, Küche, Bett und Party. Welchen Handel betreibt die romantische Liebe? Und wie fühlt es sich eigentlich an, im Kapitalismus zu leben? |

Newsletter December 2019 Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends and colleagues, dear audience, The holidays and the celebration of love are around the corner and thematically it’s all about that exact emotion with us this December too. Instead of outpourings of kitsch sticky as marzipan and sweet as icing sugar (which can also be nice sometimes), Schmitt / Adamczak explore not only l’amour but also its apparent opposite, capitalism, in Everybody needs Only You. Liebe in Zeiten des Kapitalismus. The play investigates the relationship between the love trade and the trade of goods: which trade motivates romantic love? And how does it actually feel to live in capitalism? We’re also taking a little winter trip to Leipzig: first Kötter / Israel / Limberg will once again show their sub-project Gold & Coal from their series landscapes and bodies in the Residenz of the Schauspiel Leipzig, then She She Pop will present their Oratorio - A Collective Meditation on a Well-Kept Secret there too. December 8th, 2019 at 5 and 8 pm, HAU Hebbel am Ufer Berlin Love and capitalism are considered opposites: romantic-warm versus economic-cool. But the two are closely related. Love claims to affect everybody – everybody needs somebody to love – and is unique every time: only you. Capitalism claims that if everybody was egotistical, that would be good for everyone: a society of individuation. The project Everybody Needs Only You looks into the relationship between exchanging love and trafficking in goods. Since it is cold outside, everybody is longing for the warmth inside, where there is not enough space. Four performers cover the playing field made up of wage work, kitchen, bed, and party. What kind of trade does romantic love conduct? And what does it actually feel like to live in capitalism? |
